I love deep diving vids cause at least some of these animals have never seen a human before and they all so gagged.

The Giant Mimr

Led by his zeolots Mimr goes around collecting the weak and beaten ones left behind on the battlefield to add them to his entourage.
If someone is foolish enough to resist or attack him he’ll crush them mercilessly.

“The soldiers don’t fear the battle and the fight. They fear to be left behind. Lost in the endless fields of death until he arrives. They would rather embrace death than be found by him and his zealots.”

I don’t think enough people really understand yet exactly how horrific this fire was. This was a loss to our world and species.

This is the kind of fire we think of thousands of years later as the deepest of tragedy. On the scale of the Library of Alexandria. It’s worse than that really. The Library of Alexandria kept copies of books in other locations so historically very little was lost in individual fires over the centuries.

This? We lost so goddamn much in one night.

If you want to help… if you have ANY vacation photos, videos, anything documenting the contents of the museum: You may in fact be the sole owner of a slice of humanity’s soul.

I dont wanna be that guy bc its awesome that lesbians love hozier but Nina Cried Power is pretty specifically abt civil rights especially in refference to the black civil rights movement like literally its in the title referring to Nina Simone and Frankly if this site wasnt so overrun by white gays making memes abt themselves theres no way that would be so overlooked lol

this is a perfect articulation of whats been bothering me about tumblrs response to this song

in Nina Cried Power, hozier worked very closely with mavis staples who is featured in the track. he said even before the song was anything, at its fetal stages he wanted her input and direction to make this song. he specifically sought out to make a soul/blues homage to black protest musicians who used their music for activism, and he says the names of several of these artists on the track, and describes the song as a “thank you note” to them

so while its totally valid to feel empowered by the song and relate it to your own oppression, yall ignoring that this song is made not only as a thank you note but also as a message of empowerment to keep fighting the good fight as it relates specifically to black people and the civil rights movement.

the message of the song is completely unavoidable as half the song lists people like nina simone, mavis staples, james brown, billie holiday and several more. like the song is VERY in your face about what it means and who its dedicated to, so to see white gays totally ignoring that and acting like this EP was made for us is very disheartening.

Kikutaro Baba’s Cyerce (Cyerce kikutarobabai) is named after the Japanese malacologist Kikutaro Baba (malacology is the field of science dealing with the study of mollusks). Individuals grow to be around 8mm long and live widely spread throughout the Indo-west Pacific. Unlike many other Cyerce’s, the Cyerce kikutarobabai’s flattened cerata are actually slightly inflated!

Now here is the real entomology etymology question worth debating. Does “bugs” as a general term refer to only to terrestrial arthropod groups  (insects, arachnids, myriapods, woodlice etc.), or is it more of a sunonym for creepy crawly and things like snails and worms also can be described as “bugs”

Someone needs to make an alignment chart for what people consiter bugs cause it could be anything from “"hemipterans are the only bugs” to “technically a human infant is a bug”
